Ginkgo Tree Medics Therapy

The Ginkgo Tree

These are ancient trees, durable and strong which were among the few living things to survive the Hiroshima blast site. The Japanese regard this tree as "the bearer of hope" and "the survivor".

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

CBT can be used to examine our thoughts, feelings and behaviours to make changes to help us grow and thrive. I use formulation based CBT that uses evidence based techniques tailored to individual needs.

My name is Lisa Tyrer. As a doctor and psychotherapist I am able to understand the particular needs of Medics and the difficulties that we face through training and work.

I graduated with MBChB from Liverpool in 2006 and practiced as a GP until 2014. I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapies and am accredited with the British Association of Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, meaning I have met and continue to maintain the highest industry standards.

I am experienced in providing CBT specifically tailored to the needs of medics covering mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, trauma including moral injury, and burnout. I work for the NHS providing evidence-based treatment for burnout for doctors and other NHS staff members.
